All Glory

All Glory

“Two years ago my husband and I moved to London, relocating from our hometown Sydney, Australia. Knowing that this is what God had called us to do we bought a one way ticket and said “so-long”, to our country, city, family, friends, jobs, church and all that we had ever known as home. Now, two years later this adventure has been not only amazing but a huge transition - letting go of everything we had accumulated and all that had defined us and our identity, to trust in God alone.”

“The scripture that God gave me is what my heart meditated on during this transition – Ephesians 3:17-21 ‘Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God. Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. Glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen.’”

“Through the rollercoaster of this journey and out of the voice of this Scripture came the song. It then started on a journey of its own – being worked and re-worked until we really felt it was finished (over about the period of a year!). My friend Tim Hughes really helped bring the song to life, we then used it regularly in our church worship services. When it came to record it we still felt that it could be crafted a little more – like there was still something more to be said. So, Martin Smith (who is an incredible wordsmith) really helped craft it lyrically. The final version of this song is a two year story of my heart, a progression of musical ideas and a whole lot of help from two amazing songwriters and friends!”
