Carols From Home - Sandra McCracken

Sandra McCracken

7th December 2020

This Christmas season, Sandra McCracken has released the Deluxe Edition of her album, Christmas, with this hope; "I hope for my music to help people feel stirred up to ask the important questions.  I hope for music to bring comfort and hope.  And I hope it helps people to sing together.  A Christmas album is all the more reason to do just that."

With such vulnerable and exposed arrangements of these songs from Sandra's own home, her desire is that they would lead you to remember this: in the broken places, in the waiting, in the hoping, God has come to dwell with us. We are not alone.

We hope these songs and videos will inspire you as you lead your congregation and your family this Christmas whether in person, through a screen, or at home.

Silent Night

May singing Silent Night bring the comfort and peace of God, through the tenderness of its words and familiar melody. Maybe these words especially be a comfort to us this year, Jesus, Lord at Thy birth. He was Lord then and He is still Lord of all now.

This Is The Christ

'This text is Martin Luther from an old hymnal.  I love his poetry and the fact that this one holds the ancient future elements together.  It might be the most modern production combined with the oldest lyrics.  That, to me is a small picture of Christmas tradition made new.'

You can also download a transposable chord chart, sheet music and MP3 for This Is The Christ throughout December as our Hymn of the Month!
