AMAZING GRACE how sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost but now am found
Was blind but now I see

'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear
And grace my fears relieved
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed

Through many dangers toils and snares
I have already come
Twas grace that brought me safe thus far
And grace will lead me home

When we've been here ten thousand years
Bright shining as the sun
We've no less days to sing God's praise
Then when we've first begun

So come rejoice in all God's done
For mercy has been shown
Oh praise the Father! Praise the Son!
Praise the Holy Ghost!

John Newton (1725-1807)
